Bathroom mirrors

It is not an electrical appliance, so you do not need to comply with any specific IP rating requirements or consider the distance from a power socket. When choosing a mirror above the washbasin, you should mainly consider the size, shape, and design, because a bathroom mirror also plays an aesthetic role.

Size

You need to take into account the size of your bathroom. However, this does not mean that a small bathroom needs a small mirror – quite the opposite. A mirror has the advantage of making a space look larger, so in this case you really should think big. On the other hand, a smaller mirror, or even several smaller mirrors, can also look great in a large bathroom.

In any case, the minimum width of the mirror should be 40 cm and the height 80 cm. And is it better to choose a frameless bathroom mirror or one with a frame? Some frameless mirrors are quite affordable bathroom mirrors while still looking stylish. A framed mirror makes sense if the frame matches the surrounding interior – a black frame for a bathroom with fittings in the same colour, or a wooden frame if you have wooden bathroom furniture.

Position

Customers sometimes ask where exactly to place a mirror above the washbasin. It is recommended that the distance between the washbasin and the bottom edge of the mirror should be 10 to 20 cm. The centre of the mirror height should correspond to the average height of an adult, so around 170 cm. The goal is that you can see the entire upper half of your body in the mirror, while the smallest members of your household can at least see their face.

Shape

After all, make-up looks different in the bathroom than it does in daylight.
