Long-standing Experience

The company’s history began in 1823 when Johann Adam Benckiser founded a small chemical factory in Germany. However, the foundation of the modern BWT was laid in 1990, when Andreas Weißenbacher acquired the majority stake, focused the company on water technology, and relocated it to Mondsee, Austria, two years later. Today, BWT Holding GmbH serves both private households and commercial sectors, including hotels, public institutions, and healthcare, employing over 5,500 people and operating in more than 80 countries worldwide.
