Makita is a Japanese manufacturing company that has been focusing on the production and distribution of premium hand tools for more than a hundred years. It has gained its reputation thanks to the high quality of its products and especially its above-standard user comfort.

The history of Makita Corporation began on May 21, 1915, when Mosaburo Makita (born 1893) founded Makita Electric Works in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, focusing on the sale and repair of lighting equipment, motors, and transformers. In 1958, the company introduced its first power tool, which quickly gained popularity among professionals and hobbyists thanks to its features. Its goal is simple: to make work easier while ensuring safety and comfort.
Present day
Today, Makita is one of the leading manufacturers of hand tools, currently offering nearly 400 types of professional electric, cordless, petrol, and pneumatic tools. Significant expansion was achieved through mergers with companies such as Sachs-Dolmar, Fuji Robin, and Kanematsu. Makita owns nine manufacturing plants strategically located around the world, employs nearly 19,000 people (as of 2023), and achieved a profit of 739 billion Japanese yen in 2022. The company’s official representation in the Czech Republic was established in 1995.

The typical color of Makita products is a combination of turquoise, black, and gray. All products in this design guarantee high quality and safety. The high quality of the products is also evidenced by the fact that all Makita manufacturing plants are certified according to ISO 9002.

In addition to high global quality standards, Makita is always fully localized. It respects the requirements of each country where its products are offered. The Czech branch, Makita, spol. s r.o., fulfills obligations under Act No. 524/2020 Coll. on end-of-life products, as amended, and Decree No. 16/2022 Coll. through collective systems ASEKOL and ECOBAT. Obligations under Act No. 477/2001 Coll. on packaging are fulfilled through the collective system EKOKOM.
