Towel rails and towel holders

A towel holder or towel hooks are practical accessories that should not be missing from any bathroom. There are many options available. The question is what kind of towel rack to choose so that it suits both you and the space. 

The first question to answer is what you will be hanging in the bathroom and how much of it. It is not just about towels. We often use a bath towel rail near the shower, a hook for a washcloth, or various shelves with towel holders where you can easily place spare towels, bathrobes, or bath sheets.

Towel hook and washbasin

One towel holder is usually placed directly next to the washbasin. It is used for drying hands after ordinary washing (before meals, after using the toilet, when coming in from outside…). If there are more people in the household and you want to have several towels available at once, a multi-arm towel rack or a double towel hook will serve you well (and it also saves space). 

Fixed or swivel towel holder?

A towel holder can be either fixed or swivel (two-arm, four-arm). Most towel racks are installed by screwing them to the wall (with concealed or visible fixing), or by gluing them to the wall or into a joint. Always use the adhesive recommended by the manufacturer. There is also the option of a freestanding stand with swivel arms. Its advantage is that you can move it around the room as needed. Fixed towel holders are available in various lengths.

Towel hook by the shower or bathtub

Besides hand towels, you should also think about where to place the bath towels you need after showering or bathing. From a safety point of view, it is best to position them so that you can reach them comfortably even from the bathtub or shower. This minimises the risk of injury. For this purpose, towel hooks are ideal. You can choose single hooks or double hooks. An alternative is a fixed towel holder. Depending on the chosen length, it can hold either hand towels or larger bath towels as well. A ring towel holder can also look very attractive.

In the bathtub or shower, towel hooks can also be used in another way, for example for hanging soap on a rope or a washcloth. 

Even a bathroom towel holder can be elegant

A bathroom towel holder may be a “small” piece of equipment, but that does not mean it has no impact on the overall atmosphere of the room. When choosing one, make sure it matches the rest of the bathroom aesthetically. We recommend choosing a towel rack from the same manufacturer as your taps. Chrome or gold towel rack?

It is up to you whether you choose modern angular lines, soft rounded shapes, or unique elements with unusual designs, for example inspired by industrial style or nature. The classic finish is chrome, matt black creates a mysterious look, while gold finishes evoke a sense of luxury. White, stainless steel, and bronze finishes are also available.
